I was congratulating a friend on her recent PRs (person records) in the weight room when she responded with "this is much bigger than that to me" which in turn I said no kidding and the grey bubbles started running... 💭💭 This is about progress, growth, overcoming doubt, fears, the voices in my head telling me I can't and proving I will. Self esteem. Worth. Believing. This is a journey not just about lifting heavy weights and running faster, it's about adding on the weight of life and finding, growing, learning. See, lifting something heavier is a process. It takes discipline, drive, hardwork. A passion for success. It is a mindset. When you so badly want to press snooze, you don't. Your feet hit the ground and you start to move. Move in the direction of being better than yesterday. It's more than just physical. Shit, it's 99% mental. If you have that persistent drive there is nothing that can stop you. Be proud. Stay focused. Stand tall. And know that you just accomplished what you could not do before. Not only did you push and get yourself to the next level. You silenced the doubters, the non believers, the self esteem crushers that live in all our heads. Give them a high five the next time you do it. Thank them for the motivation. And before you sit back and say the words, hey you got stronger. Recognize that this strength is not merely just physical. This strength is a reflection of what I am able to accomplish. A true look and insight into how I operate much far beyond the limits of a gym floor.
